The first time you start or accept a Video Chat request, your device will ask you to allow access to the microphone and camera. This is necessary in order to carry out a Video Date. To proceed, just click the "Allow" button.
If you hit "Decline" by mistake, you can still use the Video Date feature thereafter:
- The next time you try to use Video Date in the app, you will be asked permission to use the microphone and camera. Please confirm to accept or start a video call.
- In the web version you can change this setting in your browser. Instructions for this can be found in the help pages of the browser.
The following are the different browser instructions to set up your camera and microphone:
Google Chrome - For Chrome, please refer to managing cameras and microphones on Chrome.
Safari - Help with camera and microphone can be found on the Apple help pages.
Mozilla Firefox - For Firefox, go to: Manage camera and microphone permissions with Firefox.
Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer - Help with microphone and camera can be found on the Microsoft website.
PLEASE NOTE - You will not be able to start a Video Chat if you are not at least a Premium member. You will may not be able to start a Video Chat with someone who has opted to not receive Video Chat requests from certain people. If you are not able to message that person, it's likely that the person has set their Messenger to only receive interactions from matching people or they are not receiving messages or Video Chats at all.
